If you feel as though your college dorm room isn’t quite as you’d like it, or you’re looking to make a positive change, then this is the guide for you. Here you can find out everything you need to know about revamping your college dorm room by simply following the steps outlined below.

Practice Minimalism

The first thing that you need to do is actively practice minimalism wherever possible. This would involve you throwing away any items that are low value, or that you don’t need. If you are not quite sure if you have items that are low value, then simply think about anything that can easily be replaced.

If you look at your desk and just see tons of paperclips, you’ll soon see that you don’t need this many and that you probably won’t use them enough to go through the whole pack. In this instance, it would be wise for you to throw them away or even donate them. When you do, you will soon find that you free up space and that you can also help someone else out.

If you have other products such as paper, then you can easily donate this as well. If you can try and adopt this mindset then this will work in your favour and you may even find that you are able to free up as much space as possible.

Sure, throwing things away can be difficult but at the end of the day, it is essential for a clutter-free dorm room.

Organize and Structure your Items

It’s also helpful to restructure and reorganize your items. If you want to try and organize your items, then it’s helpful to start with your office products, as this is probably causing the most clutter.

If you want to do something about this then simply look at the items on your desk, do you have a lot of pens or paper? If you can’t get rid of it or if you know that you are going to be needing it in the future then it’s a good idea for you to invest in a paper stacker, or a pen tub. When you have something like this, you can then keep everything organized and you may even find that you are able to clear up tons of space.

If you have a lot of folders, invest in a quality desk or even try and invest in ones that can be stacked next to one another. If you do this, then you will soon find that your entire space comes together quite quickly.

Sell High Value Items

As mentioned above, throwing away low-value items is a great way for you to really rocket the potential of your college dorm room and it will also make it feel much cleaner too. If you want to take things to that next level, then selling any high-value items would also be a good idea. Remember that you can easily make a lot of money by doing this and you may even find that you can put the money towards any furniture you may need to keep your room tidier.

Find a Cheap Self-Storage Facility

If you have done all of the above and still feel as though your room is cluttered, then you may find that you can invest in a very cheap self-storage facility. When you do this, you can protect any items you have without keeping them in your dorm.

This is ideal if you want to keep your treasured, bulky items without having to worry about how much space they are taking up in your dorm. If you know that you are not going home for quite some time, then this also makes a self-storage solution an investment. You may find that you can keep all of your items safe, while still having an easy and convenient location to load up the car when you do decide to venture back home.

Of course, there are many ways that you can keep your college dorm room clear, and if you follow these tips, then you will soon find that you are able to not only have a nicer space to relax, but also a more productive space to work as well, so keep that in mind.
