It is a frequent practise to erect a fence around the perimeter of a property that has a basket weave design in order to protect the privacy of the people who live there. The height of the fence that surrounds the property will be decided by the height of the basket weave fence that is produced when the fence is completed.
There are various variations of the basket fence, each of which may be installed not only on hilly terrain but also on streets that have a flat surface. These variations are available. In order to build a fence that features a basket weave pattern, you will first need to install some more posts, and then you will need to shape the fence in such a way that it wraps securely around the new posts.
The installation of a weave fence such as this one does not provide a particularly difficult task, but it does call for a certain amount of knowledge and ability.
1. The first thing that has to be done is to set up the posts.
Before beginning to dig a hole for the posts, you should first prepare the posts by treating the bottom quarter of each post with a wood preserver or varnish and allowing it to penetrate the wood over the course of one night. It is important to complete this step before beginning to dig a hole for the posts.
The next day, you should decide where the fence post will be placed, and you should write down your decision. After that, you should begin constructing the fence. Put your mark on this spot by either spraying it with spray paint or drawing a line with chalk and putting it there. It is necessary to leave around 6 or 7 feet of spacing between each of your posts if you want to ensure that they are situated in the most advantageous spot feasible.
After you have decided where you will put them, you will need to use your post hole digger to construct the hole in the ground where they will be set. After you have placed the post into the hole, go to the next step of filling the hole with gravel using a few handfuls at a time. Carry out the aforementioned steps for each and every one of the posts that you plan to install.
2. The second step involves the installation of the fence board.
After you have arranged the posts in this fashion, you will need to use a level to examine their alignment and make certain that they are standing in the correct position before moving on to the next step, which is to attach the bottom rail.
It is necessary for you to cut the primary board that will be used for the fence, and then you must nail it into place. In addition to securing the board to the lower rail with nails, you need also cut a number of large holes into the board. Each of these incisions should have six or seven cuts done in it for every two feet of board that you have available to work with. Proceed to work your way around the whole circumference of the fence until you have a set of planks in position.
3. As the third step, add the Weave to the pattern.
At this point, you really need to be ready to move forward with the process of adding the weave to your articles. First things first, you’ll need to chop down some lumber to the same dimensions as your fence. After that, place the pieces of timber into the board where the initial cut was made. At this point, you should cut down any surplus timber so that it is the same length as your fence.
Keep a downward pressure on the piece of lumber as you draw it toward you through the second gap, and then pull it back out through the third opening. Continue working your way through the fence until you have pushed the lumber through all of the gaps in the same manner, and then nail it to the lowest rail when you have completed this step.
4. Putting the Finishing Touches on the Fence is the Fourth Step
After you have finished installing the bottom rail, the next step is to ensure that the posts remain firmly in position by pouring a layer of concrete into the holes where they were previously positioned. This may be done after you have completed the installation of the bottom rail.
After the concrete has been mixed, it should then be poured into the holes. First, this should be done. First, make use of the spirit level in order to keep the posts in their vertical positions. Next, apply a layer of earth on top of the concrete in order to stop the posts from sagging in any direction. Allow the item to dry naturally in the air for about a week.
