Inspire - Young Composers 2011

"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones."
John Cage

What is Inspire and the BBC Proms Young Composers 2010 Competition?

The BBC Proms, founded in 1895, is the world's biggest classical music festival and takes place every summer at London's Royal Albert Hall. The world-class musicians, informal atmosphere, cheap tickets and the chance to hear music from today's top composers are just some of the reasons people keep coming back year after year. Every concert is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and online, and many are broadcast on BBC Television. The BBC Proms and Radio 3 have always championed new composers and music, so if you're interested in being among them come along and be inspired by those who share your passion.
