Grand Teton National Park

  • Grand Teton National Park is one of the most beautiful major tourist attractions in the state of Wyoming. This national park is located near the northwestern region of Wyoming and lies to the south of Yellowstone National Park. This National Park is famous for its vast mountain range with jagged snow covered peaks. Many professional photographers along with hikers and climbers visit this national park for its mountain ranges.

  • There is something unique about these peaks which make them look beautiful throughout the year. This is due to the crystalline rocks which are present at the peak and are exposed to external elements. The Grand Teton is at a height of 13,770 feet above the sea level. Twelve other peaks excluding the Grand Teton rise to the height of 12,000 feet above the sea level.

  • The collection of flora and fauna in this place is also amazing. Over sixty species of mammals along with 300 species of birds and various species of fishes can be found in Grand Teton National Park. The American Elk or Wapiti is also unique to this region and can be found in large numbers in this region. During summer though it becomes hard to spot the elk as they migrate to higher altitudes but during summer they descend down to Jackson Hole.

  • As it is a national park, the opportunities to indulge in some adventure are endless. One could just pack a haversack along with a tent and essential commodities and head out on a camping trip. A camping trip in such a beautiful place will definitely have a life changing effect on a person. Hiking or mountain climbing is also a great way to get away from the busy hustle and bustle of urban life. For those who enjoy water, there are numerous places in the national park wherein one can enjoy kayaking or white water rafting.

Devils Tower National Monument

  • Devils Tower is another major tourist attraction in Wyoming. This place also has a lot of historical significance as it was the first national monument in America and was proclaimed as such in 1906 by then President of America Theodore Roosevelt.

  • The Devils Tower has a height of 1267 feet above the Belle Fourche River. It is a huge park and its size is said to be near about 1347 acres. A dense forest comprising of pine trees, vast woodlands and grasslands surround the Devils Tower. Most of the animals seen over here are Deer and prairie dogs with some other species as well. A lot of importance is given to this site by the Native Americans who call this place the Bears Lodge.

  • The Devils Tower or Bears Lodge is considered to be a sacred site by the Native Indians. Most of the tourists come over here as the parks are beautiful to roam about while the structure of the monument itself is mesmerizing to say the least. In the winter season the devils Tower is even more beautiful to look at as the tower itself along with the nearby trees are covered with snow.

Jackson Hole

  • Jackson Hole is famous for the adventurous activities one could enjoy and revel in here. The slopes are great for skiing or snowboarding as the snow has the perfect consistency.

  • It is the best place to start learning for an amateur. The professionals can choose certain slopes which offer a higher difficulty level. One can even rent a snowmobile and zoom around while having a lot of fun with their peers and family. Many great resorts in the vicinity at Jackson Hole mean that one does not have to worry about things like accommodation, food etc. Other places in Wyoming cannot guarantee as skiing depends on the snowfall in that area but the location of Jackson Hole nearly guarantees fresh snow in the winter season.
