Natural Wonders in Africa

A continent where the human history began, Africa is the second largest continent in the world with 30,242,922 sq. kilometers surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Suez Canal to the northeast, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and Indian Ocean to the southeast. Here are a few wonders in Africa of many.

Cairo Citadel, Egypt

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Egypt is Citadel of Cairo. The Muqattan hill, once famous for its great views, was a place less susceptible to be attacked. It was fortified by the Ayyubid Salah Al-Din to keep it safe from the crusaders.

The great lighthouse of Alexandria was located in the island of Pharos just off coast of Alexandria in Egypt. The Lighthouse was the only wonder constructed for practical purposes for helping ships to find the harbor safely.
