Venice Climate:

There is a very high humidity in Venice with hot weather in July and August. The temperature in summer is roughly recorded between 30 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius. The climate, however, dips in winter to 3 degree Celsius and at time to even 0 degree Celsius. Due to its big coastline, Venice experiences heavy downpour accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms.  This often leads to floods in the beautiful city.

Venice Culture:

Music is a part and parcel of Venetian culture.  Theatres are also found in Venice, wherein you can enjoy the best dramas and not to forget the Venice Comedy, which is mentioned in the history books.  It may be noted that William Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice is one of the best dramas depicting the culture of the city ages ago.

  • Venice Film Festival:

    There could be no one who hasn’t heard of Venice Film Festival. The 67th Venice Film Festival took place while, the 68th Venice film festival will take place from August 31 to September 10, 2011. It is therefore, the oldest film festival in the world and one of the most prestigious film festivals. The Venice Film Festival was founded in 1932 by Count Giuseppe as "Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica", and since then the festival has been taking place every year in August/September. The nominated films will be screened at the historic Palazzo del Cinema.

  • Venice Biennale:

    The Venice Biennale, which takes place once in every two years, is a major art exhibition. The Venice Film Festival is a part of Venice Biennale. It was started in 1835.

Dine and Wine in Venice:

With Venice being an expensive place to visit, the food and drink in the city are also expensive. Though there are American food outlets in Venice, it is advisable to taste the Italian cuisine. Not to forget that Italian cuisines have roots that is from the 4th century BC.

Venice Bars:

The words bars and cafes are interchangeable, in the sense; you get drinks—right from alcoholic beverages to coffee—besides breakfast and refreshing drinks to the tourists. They usually open at 8 am and sometimes are opened till 2 am.

Just like a bakery, a pastecceria is a shop that sells pastries, cakes, cream puffs. Most of pasticcerias also sell chocolate cakes. It is a best place to dig your teeth into hot chocolate cake while chatting with your friends.
