Tennessee Brief History
The capital of Tennessee is Nashville. In the year 1779, Nashville was explored by John Donelson, James Robertson and a group of Wataugans. The original name of Nashville was Fort Nashborough. Very soon Nashville came up as the permanent capital of Tennessee. During the 19th century, Nashville prospered into a newfound town. Tennessee has an interesting history and many historic places.

Pigeon Forge
During 1700, many travelers from Carolinas settled in Pigeon Forge. These travelers passed through the Smoky Mountains to reach to their destination. In the year 1820, Isaac Cove was the person who established an iron forge and then 10 years later it was established by his son. During that time there were many pigeons that fed on beech trees which were along the bank of the river. That’s where the name ‘’Pigeon’’ came from.
Oak Ridge
Oak Ridge is 22 miles from Knoxville. It is known to be an important nuclear research center. Uranium was produced in the graphic reactor of the National Laboratory that was used in making bombs. The National Museum of Science and Energy is an interesting place to know where atomic energy is developed.
Nashville
Nashville is known as the ‘’Athens of the South’’. It is the capital of Tennessee that is located along the Cumberland River. Nashville is known worldwide as the capital of country music which is heard on the radio in a program known as Grand Ole Opry.
Grand Junction
The National Bird Dog Museum that is at the Grand Junction has some spectacular features. Photography and art of bird dogs from the 19th and 20th century are something that you should not miss out on a trip to Tennessee.
Great Smoky Mountain National Park
The Great Smoky Mountain Nation Park at Tennessee covers an area of 814 sq. miles. This National Park was established in 1934. These mountains run along the ranges of Appalachians which are at the east-west forest region in the U.S. TheGreat Smoky Mountains got its name from the mist and clouds that rise from the mountains like smoke.
