Singapore, the Southeast Asian city-state is officially called as the Republic of Singapore. Singapore is the capital. The Republic of Singapore is an island country that spreads over an area of 694 square kilometers. Singapore is highly urbanized which has developed rapidly also considered as one of the Four Asian Tigers. It is a Parliamentary republic which includes 63 islands. As per the 2010 census the population of Singapore is 5,076,700. It is located between Malaysia and Indonesia. A tropical rainforest climate prevails in Singapore.

Singapore has one of the busiest ports from top five ports around the world, with fourth biggest financial center and one of the largest commercial hub in the world. Forty percent being occupied by a foreign population leads with 75% of the Chinese population with rest carried by Malays, Indians and Eurasians.


People in Singapore take the bus rather than local trains. At the most buses carry twice the number of people when compared to Local Trains. Rail transportation is being operated by private sectors in Singapore. International Rail networks that move from Singapore to Thailand, Local Rail Network consists of Heavy Urban Rail and Light Urban Rail. The Heavy Urban Rail is called Mass Rapid Transit in Singapore with Network stretching five main lines, for a total length of 95.19 miles that include 104 stations.
