Polar Regions
The Polar Regions consists of the North Pole and the South Pole. The North Pole includes the Arctic region and the South Pole includes the continent of Antarctica. The Arctic is a huge ocean that is frozen and surrounded by land. The ocean area is inhabited by Eskimos. Antarctica is covered with ice and it is large in size than the Unite States.
Antarctica is mostly visited by scientists and visitors and due to an international treaty people from different part of the world can come to study and do research in Polar Regions.
The earth's Polar Regions are surrounded by ice and subject to extreme cold temperatures owing to the fact that the sun's rays does not fall on them directly. As a result of the oblique pass of rays onto the polar surface areas, a unique habitat has developed here over centuries.

The Polar Regions climate is very different from what's seen in the rest of the world. Polar Regions climate is characterized by extremely cold temperatures and as a result huge glaciers are seen to form in these areas. There is also an extreme in daylight hours, with twenty-four hours of daylight in during the summer time and a period of total darkness even during the daytime at winter. The North Pole and the South Pole can be reached through expeditions specifically meant for such traveling. It is more of an adventure travel rather than a trip from a tourist point of view.
Expeditions to the arctic region are conducted during the month of April when summer time begins here and those to the Antarctic are conducted from November through January, when it is summer in this part of the world.
