Since from the prehistoric times, the country has been populated by the nomads who create the immense confederations which rose to the prominence. The first among them was the Xiongnu, who were brought mutually to create the confederation in the year 209 BC by the Modu Shanyu.

The chief festival of the country is the Naadam which is organized from many centuries. This festival includes the 3 traditional sports of the country i.e. the horse racing, wrestling and archery. This festival takes place from the 11th July to 13th July in honor of anniversaries of the foundation of Great Mongol state and National Democratic Revolution.
The country’s economy is based on the mining and agriculture. The country has the prosperous mineral resources and coal, tin, gold, molybdenum and the tungsten accounts to the immense part of the industrial production. Recently there are approximately 30,000 self- governing business in the country, mainly which are situated near capital city.
In the current years, there has been very amazing improvement in the infrastructure of the country. The recent infrastructure in the country meets with the current industrial demands. The infrastructure of the telecommunication and electricity are reliable, but yet they are not able to cover all the sectors of population. Still the country is not able to meet the necessities in the infrastructure, particularly in the rural regions where the works of the water, roads, telecommunication and energy requires development, and also providing the opportunities to the foreign companies to make their investment in these segments.
Education was the field of the considerable achievement in the country during the period of state socialist. Illiteracy was almost eliminated, in fraction during use of the regular boarding schools for the children of the itinerant families. All the financial support to these schools was cut in 1990’s which has contributed in the very small increase in illiteracy. Formerly the secondary and the primary educationlasted 10 years, but currently are expanded for the 11 years and is planned to increase it further to the 12 years.
