Minnesota is a Midwestern state of the United States of America. Minnesota is known as the land of ten thousand lakes, but in reality it has almost fifteen thousand lakes. The name of the state Minnesota is derived from the American word Dakota and it means sky tinted water. People of Minnesota State generally are cheerful and friendly in nature and expect the same from the tourists also. Minnesota State is also known for its love for music, songs and concert and is evident from the fact that the state hosts many musical concerts throughout the year. St Paul is the capital city of the state and is situated on the banks of the river Mississippi. St Paul is well known for its Fine Arts, Theatre & Music. The famous chambers of Orchestra belong to the city and their fine music is always given a special acknowledgement. Beside these, the city is also well known for its annual Carnival held every year in the Winter Season. Especially during the Carnival time the city is over-flooded with the tourist and it is remarked as the major attraction among the tourists.
Minneapolis is another popular destination of Minnesota and tourist gets attracted to this city because of its yearly festivals. These festivals are celebrated in a grand manner and attract the tourists the most. The Mill City Music festival gives a chance to all the musicians of the world to come under the same platform and show their talent.
These two cities popularly called as the twin cities connect with each other through the river Mississippi and the recreation area lies through the river only. Mississippi river connects the two cities in such a manner that all the historic sites, the various adventure locations of both the cities also get connected with each other.
The behaviour and the manner of the people of Minnesota people make the state a special and unique one. The popularity of the Minnesota as a destination among the tourist is very high when compared to the other states of US. The culture, the Scandinavian Heritage and other traditions and rituals of the state makes it the peak point of the popularity.
