The areas covered by Kuwait Airlines are the Middle East, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
In 2008, the plan to turn Kuwait Airlines into a private shareholding company was approved by the National Assembly of Kuwait. This process of privatization is still under way till date. History of Kuwait Airlines

- However, a couple of years later, the airline ran into serious financial difficulties resulting in the government taking over 50% of the airline following which it acquired the entire 100%.
- Kuwait Airlines started using commercial jets in the early 60s. During that period it operated flights to London thrice a week.
- In 1968, the airline acquired three Boeing 707s. This was followed by further deliveries making the airline’s fleet eight.
- The eighties saw the modernization with the introduction of Boeing 727s and Airbus A300-600s and A310s into the fleet.
- The airline lost most of its fleet during the war with Iraq.
- Today, this airline is in the process of rebuilding the fleet and to achieve that goal it is heading towards privatization.
- Once the takeover by private parties is effective, several employees who do not want to remain, are expected to move to other areas in the public sector.
