The state of Kansas came into existence and became an integral component of United States of America in the year 1861, 29th January. Topeka is the capital of the state of Kansas and Wichita is one of the largest cities in terms of size and area in the state of Kansas.
The state of Kansas was originally home to the Native Americans until it was discovered by the European explorer, Francisco Vásquez de Coronado in the year 1541.
