Japan Airlines History

Japan Airlines International Co., Ltd. (JAL) is recently broken the flag carrier of Japan, with its headquarters in Japan, Tokyo, and Shinagawa. Main centers of the airline are Tokyo’s Tokyo International Airport and Narita International Airport with Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Nagoya's Chūbu Centre air International Airport. Airline works 5th freedom flights from Vancouver and New York. Its operations comprise non-scheduled and scheduled international, marital passenger and also cargo services to 220 objectives in 35 countries international comprised code shares. Its group has fleet of 279 airline, including Boeing aircraft for long-haul functions; airbus, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing airline for short-haul operations.  And in economic year ended 31st march, 2009, airline faction carried above 52 million passengers and above 1.1 million tons of mail and cargo.

Japan Airlines History

Japan Airlines International Co., Ltd. (JAL) was originated on 1st August, 1951 and started domestic operations on 25th October with Northwest Airlines Martin 2-0-2.  On 1st August, 1953, it became nationalized airline of Japan and started its original international services with Douglas DC-6B, named City of Tokyo, from Tokyo to San Francisco on 2nd February, 1954. And after above three decades of expansion and service, the airline was completely privatized on 18th November, 1987. In the year of 2002, Japan airlines combined with Japan’s 3rd biggest airline Japan Air System. It became the 6th leading airline in world through passengers carried. On the other hand, the airline has been deeply unbeneficial for years and after losses about 100 billion in single quarter, on 19th January, 2010, the airline filed for insolvency.

The slogan of the Japan airline is "Dream Skyward", and JAL group consist of Japan Airlines for domestic and international services; JALways for international relaxation services; JAL Express for domestic and international low-cost services; Japan Air Commuter, Hokkaido Air System, J-Air, Ryukyu Air Commuter and Japan Transocean Air for household feeder services; and JAL Cargo for mail and cargo services. And Japan airlines and four subsidiaries; comprised Japan Transocean Air, J-Air, JALways and JAL Express; are the members of one world alliance.

Japan Airlines Destinations

Japan airlines, with its subsidiaries, provides 161 international destinations in Europe, Oceania, Americas and Asia comprised code shares. Airline’s international centers are Tokyo International Airport in Haneda, Osaka International Airport in Itami, Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Tokyo's Narita International Airport. Airline group provides 59 domestic destinations with Japan.

In financial year ended 31st March, 2009, the airline increased services on 10 international routes comprised between New York and Tokyo (Narita) and Shanghai and Osaka (kansai) and it finished operations on 4 international; routes comprised between Xi’an and Tokyo (Narita), and between Qingdao and Osaka (kansai). Nationally, JAL cancelled 14 routes comprised between Okinawa and Sapporo. Moreover, the airline extended code sharing union with fellow One world partners, Finn air and British Airways, and additional airlines, including China Eastern Air France, and Jet star.

Japan Airlines In popular Culture

Over the years Japan airlines has been the spot light of various television programs. Attention Please was a play in 1970 that pursued the tale of a young girl who admits JAL to be a cabin assistant while defeating many problems. This show was repeated in 2006 again as Attention Please starring Aya Ueto who admits a class of cabin attendant applicants and later graduates. Most of act of the story of 2006 series occurs at JAL's Haneda flight operations headquarters. The series has had 2 specials since original, marking the main character's evolution into JAL's international operations.

In the year of 1980s, JAL was the main center of a new drama entitled Stewardess Monogatari which attributed another young girl for the period of training to be a JAL cabin assistant. For the period of 1990s, JAL attributed various commercials with personalities, comprised Janet Jackson who sang and danced to backdrop of JAL Boeing 747s on rotations.
