State of Eritrea is an African country that spreads over an area of 117,600 square kilometres. Asmara, the capital of the country is the largest city. Eritrea’s population comes around 6 million. Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti are the neighbouring countries.
Major cities of Eritrea are Asmara, Foro, Edd, Keren, Zula, Massawa, Assab, Nakfa, Nefasit and Adi Keyh.
Eritrea includes 6 regions which are further divided into districts. The six regions include Anseba Region, Central Region, Gash-Barka Region, Northern Red Sea Region, Southern Region and Southern Red Sea Region.
The 10 districts of Anseba Region are Adi Tekelezan, Asmat, Elabered, Geleb, Hagaz, Halhal, Habero, Keren City, Kerkebet and Sela.
Central Region is divided into 6 districts. They are Berikh, Ghala Nefhi, North Eastern, Serejaka, South Eastern and South Western.
Gash-Barka Region includes Akurdet City, Barentu City, Dghe, Forto, Gogne, Guluj, Haykota, Logo Anseba, Mensura, Mogolo, Molki, Shambuko, Tesseney and Upper Gash.
The 9 districts of Northern Red Sea Region are Afabet District, Dahlak District, Ghelalo District, Foro District, Ghinda District, Karura District, Massawa District, Nakfa District and She'eb District.
Southern Region includes 10 districts- Adi Keyh, Adi Quala, Areza, Dbarwa, Dekemhare, Kudo Be'ur, Mai-Mne, Mendefera, Segeneiti and Senafe.
Southern Red Sea Region includes 3 districts- Are'eta, Central Denkalya and Southern Denkalya.
The island group of Eritrea- Dahlak Archipelago- located in the Red Sea includes two large islands and 124 small islands. Hanish Islands, Harmil, Nahaleg and Nakura are the other major islands of Eritrea.
Eritrea hosts many volcanoes including Alid Volcano, Asseb Volcano, Dubbi Volcano, Gufa Volcano, Jalua Volcano, Mousa Ali and Nabro Volcano.
Major rivers of Eritrea are Anseba, Comaile River, Damas River, Haddas River, Mareb River, Obel River, Wadi Laba River, Wokiro River Gash, Barka and Tekeze.
