Continental airline is a United States of America certified airlines in U.S. This is mainly based in Houston, Texas. This is the fourth largest airlines organization in U.S. based on revenue. The slogan of the Continental airlines is “Work hard, Fly right” since 1998. Continental airlines providing the services thought out America, Europe, Canada and Asia. It has totally 6,000 departures daily, providing the services to 151 domestic and 191 international destinations. It have 85,200 employees are working under this airlines thought the world.
It have the main hubs in Newark Liberty International Airport (in Newark, New Jersey), George Bush Intercontinental Airport (in Houston, Texas), and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (in Cleveland, Ohio). Continental airlines have been member of Express Jet Airlines form September 2005.
Continental airlines began the services from the year of 1931 as the name of Varney Speed Lines who is the founder of united airlines. It started the services with one aircraft. That aircraft have single engine and the capacity of the aircraft is only 4 members. This aircraft called as Lockheed Vega. Later days, it added some other air crafts called Lockheed L-9 Orion, the Lockheed Electra Junior, and the Lockheed Lodestar.
In the year of 1963, Continental airlines hired the first African - American employee as a pilot. He worked for any major carrier in the US. In the year of 1970’s Continental airlines launched Boeing 747 aircraft. Continental is the first airlines used Boeing 747 air craft in US. In the year of 1972, Continental starts DC-10 services.
It got the No. 1 most admired global airlines in 2004, 005, 006, 007 and 2008 from FORTUNE magazine.
