Royal Gorge Bridge

  • Royal Gorge Bridge is located in close proximity to the Canon City of Colorado. It was until recently the world’s highest bridge before it was overtaken by one in China.

  • This bridge is a Suspension Bridge which is built on top of the River Arkansas approximately 955 feet over the river. It has a length of about 1260 feet and is 18 feet wide. Being a suspension bridge, it is suspended using high tension cables from towers which have a height of 150 feet.

  • The construction of the Royal Gorge Bridge started in 1929, June 5th and it was completed in record time of just 6 months in November 1929. The total estimated cost of the bridge came up to US $350,000 and the main reason for its construction was to create a center of attention for the tourists. Since then this bridge has become one of the most famous Attraction in Colorado for the tourists.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

  • The Grand Canyon Skywalk is situated in the vicinity of the River Colorado and after its creation it has become one of the most sought after and most visited attractions in Colorado.

  • The skywalk is about 4770 feet above the Colorado River which has a distance of 1160 feet from the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the average distance between the skywalk and the river is generally about 500 feet to 800 feet.

  • The Skywalk is run by an Indian tribe called the Hualapai tribe and it was inaugurated in the year 2007on the 28th of March. One can visit the skywalk in many ways. It is nearest from the Grand Canyon West Airport terminal and one can also drive from Las Vegas, a distance of 120 miles.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

  • Manitou Cliff Dwellings is a museum situated on the western side of the Colorado Springs and it showcases the Anasazi way of dwellings on the cliffs. The museum was created in 1904 but it was open to tourists only in the year 1906 making it one of the most prominent Attractions in Colorado.

  • The Anasazi was an Indian Tribe that existed between the years 1200 B.C. to A.D. 1300 and they resided and traveled in states of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah of the United States of America. Dr. Edgar Lee Hewett a well known anthropologist has been given credit for his work towards the creation of this Manitou Cliff Dwellings museum.

World's Wonder View Tower

  • The World’s Wonder View Tower is situated at Genoa in Colorado. It is a huge tower meant to attract tourists so that they are able to see the 5 states which surround the state of Colorado namely the states of Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

  • It was erected between 1920 and 1930 by C.W. Gregory and Myrtle Le Bow and it stood 65 feet in height. In the year 1934, it was recorded as the highest point between New York and Denver.

The Ruby Canyon

  • The Ruby Canyon is a canyon that covers a distance of about 25 miles and it is located on the border of Colorado and the state of Utah. This canyon is known by the name “Ruby Canyon” because of the red sandstones that can be witnessed on the walls of this canyon.

  • The Ruby Canyon is the most renowned spot for adventure sports, rafting in particular. The adventure sports activities that this place offers has made it one of the most exciting attractions of Colorado.

Steve Canyon Statue

  • The Steve Canyon Statue can be visited in the Idaho Springs and it is a huge statue of a comic strip cartoon that used to be published in the W.W.II Sunday comic strip. It cost the Federal government about US $ 12,000 to build the statue and it was finally inaugurated on 8th of July 1950.
