Cathay Pacific Airlines History
Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is a flag carrier of Hong Kong. It has its main hub and headquarters at the Hong Kong International Airport. It operates the fifth freedom flights from Taipei and Bangkok and also its main focus cities. Its operations comprise cargo services and planned passenger to 114 destinations in 36 countries global, comprising joint ventures and code shares, with fleet of 123 wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A330s and A340s, Boeing 747s and 777s. And it’s completely owned Dragon air, subsidiary, controls to 29destinations in Asia-Pacific province from its Hong Kong home. And in the year of 2008, Dragon air and Cathay Pacific operated 138,000 flights, carrying almost 25 million passengers and above 1.6 million tonnes of mail and cargo.
Cathay Pacific History
Cathay Pacific airline was established on 24th September 1946 through Australian Sydney H. de Kantzow and American Roy C. Farrell. In July 1998 the airline became the world's first non-stop transpolar flight flying over the North Pole. It operated maiden flight to land at new Hong Kong International Airport. After 3 years, In July 2001, it was mixed up in one of main industrial relations variances in its record, by firing 49 of its 1,500 pilots. Twelve of pilots were finally provided places in its cargo dissection.The airline commemorated its 60th anniversary in 2006; and as of October 2009, its main savers are Air China and Swire Pacific.
Cathay Pacific Destinations
With intense Asian network, Cathay Pacific provides 115 destinations in 36 countries and regions. The airline provides several gateway cities in Europe and North America, with simple connections with its code share partners and One World, British Airways and American Airlines with London and Los Angeles, respectively. Additionally,the airline provides Ten French Cities with code Share Corporation with French national rail operators, SNCF, from Paris. It has admittance to above 17destinations in China via its auxiliary, Dragon air. The Cathay Pacific poised its flight operation to and from Colombo on 26th March 2007 owing to security distress, following the closing of BandaranaikeInternational Airport. And the services between Colombo and Hong Kong with Singapore and Bangkok have consequently resumed on 30th March 2008. And in the year of 2008, the airline augmented services to Chennai, Dubai, Delhi, Perth, Mumbai, Auckland, Sydney, Singapore and Brisbane while condensed services to Vancouver and Toronto. In the year of 2009,Cathay Pacific amplified services to Shanghai and Jakarta, while services to Paris were amplified from 29th March 2009 to 31st August 2009 and also from 18 December 2009 to 6th January 2010. additionally, Jeddah would beCathay Pacific 's 2nd destination in Saudi Arabia from 25 October, while services to San Francisco and Brisbane are temporarily condensed from September to 17 November and October, correspondingly. In late 2009, services amplified back to Vancouver and Toronto at an occurrence of two times daily.
