Cape Air History

Hyannis Air Service, Inc., in use as Cape Air, is an airline branch at the Barnstable Municipal Airport in Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States. And it works scheduled traveler services in Micronesia, Northeast, Florida, Mid-Atlantic States, Midwest, and the Caribbean. Flights in Micronesia and Florida are working as the Continental Connection flights throughout a code share joint venture with Continental Airlines. And the flights between Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Hyannis were worked under Nantucket Airlines trademark, a wholly-personal auxiliary of the Cape Air.

History of Cape Air

The airline was established in 1989 through corporation pilot Dan Wolf and some of his fast friends. In the beginning Cape Air flew among Boston and Provincetown in Massachusetts.Services in Caribbean and Florida were affixed in late 1990s, and service in Micronesia was inaugurated in 2004. In the year of 1994, NantucketAirlines and Cape Air combined and now proffer hourly flights amid Hyannis and Nantucket.

In late 2007, the airline started an innovative round of development in Midwest and Northeast. On 1st November, 2007, the airline started service between Rutland, Vermont, and Boston with three regular round excursions. The direction is sponsored through US Govt under Essential Air Service (EAS) program.

And with the support of Govt grant, the Cape Air prolonged into Indiana on 13th November, 2007, providing air travels from Indianapolis to Evansville and also South Bend. And theairlines did not attain the passenger numbers required to be economically victorious one financial supports would finish. The very last Cape Air flight in Indiana was on 31st August, 2008.

Cape Air was searching to provide service on west coast. The Cape Air presented bids to provide service between Portland and Newport in state of Oregon. And the airline was expecting to be chosen through Newport city committee to get a financial scholarship to restart the service. Finally they misplaced out to a new local airline which was capable to get the service going earlier than 2010 date that the Cape Air had presented.

The airline has broken into mid-Atlantic region. The Cape Air presents regularly planned flights from both Lancaster Airport and Hagerstown Regional Airport to Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

EAS Service from St. Louis, MO to Cape Girardeau, MO, Marion, IL and Quincy, IL starts 8th November. Cape air had detained discussions with the airport officers to provide service between Erie International Airport in Erie, Pennsylvania and Arnold Palmer Regional Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
