- Old Depot Museum: Selma is home to many significant historical events. As a result of which, there are many museums dedicated to enhancing your brush with history. The Old Depot Museum documents all events from the Civil war to the Civil Rights Movement, all under one roof.
- National Voting Rights Museum and Institute: It is based at 1012 Water Avenue and houses the events that led to equality of voting from back in the day.
- Edmund Pettus Bridge: This Bridge holds great significant importance in the history of Selma. On March 7, 1956, 600 protesters gathered in Selma. They were going to march for their rights on U.S 80 to Birmingham. However, they were met on the Edmund Pettus Bridge by local white police officers who drove them back into the city with tear gas and Billy clubs. Martin Luther King Jr. ordered a march thereafter to commemorate the events of the previous march.
- Selma to Montgomery Highway: This was the route that Martin Luther King Jr. took to commemorate the events of March 7, 1956 where 600 protestors were brutally assaulted for campaigning for their rights.
Besides the places mentioned above, Alabama has various other tourist spots as well.
