Air China History

Air China Ltd is People's Republic of China's publicly owned and 2nd largest viable airline after the China Southern Airlines. And its logo comprises phoenix in short form of VIP and “Air China” in both Chinese and English, which was signatured through Deng Xiaoping. It works 5,090 flights every week globally. It is 18th biggest airline in the world through fleet size. The Air China is considered the world’s leading carrier through market capitalization. Air China has its headquarters in Shunyi District, Beijing.

Its main centers are Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport, with other center cities at Hohhot Baita International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and Hangzhou Xiao Shan International Airport. Currently Air China flies to about 120 destinations nearly all goals from its own Beijing center.

It is counted 4th biggest Airline in Asia and 5th biggest airline in the world in the terms of conjugal cargo traffic and also 18th biggest airline in the world through terms of the fleet size.

Air China History

Beginning

Air China was originated on 1st July, 1988. Its configuration was a consequence of Govt.’s verdict to divide the operating divisions of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) into split airlines. And the CAAC was reformed in later 1987.  It divided into 6 airlines, namely Air China, China Southern, China Eastern, China Southwest, China Northwest and China Northern. Based in Beijing, Air China was given major responsibility for international flights, and conquest CAAC’s lengthy haul airplane (Boeing 747s, 767s and 707s with medium-haul 737s) and ways when it was established its sovereignty on 1st July,1988.  In the year of 1988, Air China had 6,000 workers and provided 30 domestic and 31 international destinations. Air China was China’s leading Airline Corporation and national flag carrier.

Integration

In the mid-2000, CAAC replicated previous calls for integration of 10 airlines it restricted into three. (China Southern, China Eastern and Air China were to each obtain the slighter airlines.)   Though, CAAC chunked a proposed fusion in September 2000 between China Southern and Air China on anti-competitive ground.

In the month of January of 2001, ten airlines of CAAC declared that they had alleged on a fusion plan. Air china was to obtain China Southwest Airlines, prior to acquiration, Air China was counted in country's fourth powerful domestic airline. On 28th October, 2002, Air China merged with China Southwest Airlines and China National Aviation Corporation.

On 15th December, 2004 the corporation listed its division on London and Hong Kong Stock Exchanges. The Air China became shareowner in Air Macau (51%, soon to be 80.9%), Air China Cargo (51%) and also have mass shares of Shandong Airlines. On 17th August, 2009, a combined announcement disclosed a unique shareholding formation in which Air China obtain a 29.99% stake in Cathy Pacific, later, it will own 18.09% of former.

Functions

Air China works in four divisions:

  1. Airline Functions fragment, which includes the stipulation of air cargo services and air passenger;
  2. Engineering Services fragment, providing airplane engineering services, such as airplane repair,  maintenance and services;
  3. Airport Terminal Services fragment, providing ground services that comprise premium class lounge services, check-in services, luggage handling services, ramp services, boarding services, loading and unloading services, transit and cabin cleaning services.
  4. Others fragment, which includes the proviso of air catering services and other airline services.

International Cargo and passenger service extension plans

Air China is appearing at United States for international cargo and passenger service extension. At 17th June, 2008 St. Louis Beacon gave a report that Air China intended to set up a cargo center at the Lambert St. Louis International Airport. Then The United States Department of Commerce permitted extension of foreign trade district near Lambert airport on 13th February, 2009.

Air China has two additional business jets: one Gulf stream IV and 2nd Bombardier Learjet 45.
