Vanuatu History
Though this Vanuatu region was inhabited long ago, but according to historical records we get to know that the earliest settlers came here around 4000 BC. But during the 16th century, the time when various colonial powers had started exploring and capturing many unknown parts of this world, the Spanish came here under the leadership of Luis Vaez de Torres and explored it. Then other European powers started coming here during the 18th century and ultimately in the year 1887, this place came under the governing power of the joint British-French naval commission. During the 2nd World War this place had become very important. In the year 1980, Vanuatu became a part with Commonwealth of Nations.

Vanuatu actually is a combination of 83 archipelagical islands; some of the major islands of this country are- Espiritu Santo, Malakula, Efate, Ambrym, Pentecost, Vanua Lava, Maewo etc. Vanuatu is a fascinating combination of volcanoes, mountain ranges, deep forests and long water falls. Here one can still get to see some of the most active volcanoes of this planet. The highest point of this country is the Mount Tabwemasana 6,160 ft. one find here rain falling in most time of the year. The geographical setting of this country is so unique that tourists from all over the world come here to spend some quiet days in the midst of soothing natural surroundings. The gorgeous rainforests of this country is really magnificent.

Political system of Vanuatu is based upon parliamentary democracy. The president is considered as the head of this nation and his power is controlled by the Electoral College. The Electoral College can even remove the president if he/she uses the power wrongly. On the other hand the Prime Minister is the head of the government in this country and the PM has the right to form the Council of Ministers. The Prime Minister along with the Ministry- Council constitutes the entire executive government. The Parliament of this country is combination of 52 members who are choose by the general election. But in the election the divide between the French and the British forums makes a good impact. The Supreme Courtof Vanuatu is made of the chief justice along 3 other judges.
Vanuatu Economy
The bulk of the economic growth of Vanuatu is dependant upon various small-scale agricultural industries of Vanuatu. Apart from that, the people of this country are also dependant upon fishing, offshore financial services, cattle-farming etc. But lack of natural resources is considered as the obstacle to heavy-scale industries in this country. But theeconomic infrastructure of Vanuatu was heavily suffered due to the 2007 earthquake. But if the tourism industry of this country can be properly developed then it fetch lots of foreign dollars for the local govt. But the economic growth of this country is also dependant upon the help of the neighboring countries like Australia and New Zealand. But recently the govt of Vanuatu has taken some initiatives to develop the industries of this country.

Vanuatu Demographics
3 Islands were colonized by the Polynesians and here one gets to notice varied demographics. History informs us that local tribes at different times came and inhabited here. Mostly spoken languages of Vanuatu are English and French and some people also converse in Bislama. Bislama is a unique language that can be heard here which is a rare combination ofMelanesian grammar along with the English vocabulary.

The Vanuatu culture is a mixture of the French and British elements. In the northern part of this country, the wealth of a person is assessed by how much that person can give away. Traditional Melanesian tradition is another characteristic of this country and can still be seen very prominently. Christianity is the prevalent religion in this country. Folk music is also quite popular in this country and tradition music like kastom-tanis and kastom-singsing is practiced by the people here. Various old tribal instruments are played with humming and things like drums and flute are must. People belong to almost every community here is quite passionate about music-heritage of this country.
