Introduction:

The 2010 Winter Olympics will be hosted in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. 2010 Winter Olympics is the 21st Winter Olympic Games. The 2010 Winter Olympics will be commenced in February 12 – 28 in 2010. Canada is conducting third time of the Olympics.  

Sam Sullivan, Vancouver mayor, is taken the Olympic flag from 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. The flag was hoisted at Vancouver City Hall on February 28, 2006.

Progression and preparation for 2010 Winter Olympics – Vancouver:

Vancouver calls above 25,000 volunteers to conduct 2010 Winter Olympics in February, 2008. Tickets are purchased from October, 2008. Countdown is started from February 12, 2009 to commence the 2010 Winter Olympics. The estimated money is $900 millions.

Construction for 2010 Winter Olympic Venues – Vancouver:

Vancouver faces many problems to construct the venues in 2010 Winter Olympics. The Bid Committee and VANOC are invested 50/50 basis. Vancouver wanted to collect donations and sponsorships from private organizations.

Vancouver will be constructed the expansion of the SkyTrain Transit System, Rapid Transit Link between Richmond and Downtown Vancouver and will be completed in the year 2009. The British Columbia will be spent $600 million for Sea-to-Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler.

Estimation for 2010 Winter Olympics – Vancouver:
  • The three main venues will be constructed at the rate of $580 million.
  • The Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC) will be spent 40 million dollars for Hillcrest/Nat Bailey Stadium Park.
  • The Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC) will be spent 16.6 million dollars for the advanced facilities at Cypress Mountain.
  • The estimated amount of 2010 Winter Olympics is $1.4 billion in 2004.
  • John Furlong, VANOC CEO is estimated about $1.7 billion in 2006.
Environment at 2010 Winter Olympic Venues – Vancouver:

The Richmond Olympic Oval and some other venues are at sea level for Winter Olympics. The 2010 Games will be held at indoors for Opening Ceremony. The Temperature at Vancouver in winter season is 4.8 °C (40.6 °F). The BC Place Stadium will host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of 2010 Winter Olympics at Vancouver.

Logo Design for 2010 Winter Olympics – Vancouver:

‘Ilanaaq the Inunnguaq’ is the logo of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and was exposed on April 23, 2005. Ilanaaq means the Eastern Arctic word for friend. The logo is also used as a sign on English Bay beach.

Telecast of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games:

Many Universal Television Channels will be telecast the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

The Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) will be hosted to telecast the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Nancy Lee, an Ex-producer-cum-executive for CBC Sports, is the executive director of Olympic Broadcasting Services Vancouver.

Torch Relay at Vancouver:

The Olympic flame is moved by the Olympic Torch Relay from Ancient Olympia, Greece. The flame will be reached at the time of Opening Ceremony.
