The 2010 Winter Paralympics is formally known as the 10th Paralympic Winter Games. The 2010 Winter Paralympics will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia from March 12 to March 21. The Opening Ceremony will be conducted at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is the second time for Canada to conduct the Winter Paralympics. Vancouver witnessed to conduct the both 2010 Olympics and Paralympics.
2010 Winter Paralympics – Flag Hoisting:
Prince Edward is a member of the Canadian Royal Family. He is a sponsor of the British Paralympic Association. He hoisted the flag of the Paralympic Games at the Vancouver City Hall.
2010 Winter Paralympics Preparations:
The preparations at Vancouver are started one before the 2010 Winter Paralympics. The Coordination Commission, the IPC representative Rita van Driel and CEO Xavier Gonzalez were reviewed and received the updates and presentations from the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee (VANOC). The last visit of the Coordination Commission will be reviewed the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Venues on August 2009.
The IPC representative, Ms. Rita van Driel said, “We are very satisfied with VANOC’s preparations for the Paralympic Winter Games. A further enhancement of the close collaboration with VANOC will ensure that the 2010 Winter Paralympics will be a great success and that athletes as well as spectators will have a great experience in March 2010.”

2010 Winter Paralympics – Venues:
Both Vancouver and Whistler are provided the Venues for the 2010 Winter Paralympics.
The latest technology is utilized in all the venues at Vancouver.
Most of the events will be held in Whistler. Whistler is situated in the beautiful Cheakamus Valley. The Closing Ceremony will be conducted at Whistler in the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Whistler will provide inhabit housing, hostel accommodation, and also provide the convenient hotels and restaurants with all facilities for athletes and spectators.

2010 Winter Paralympics – Mascot:
The mascot was called Sumi, looked like an animal. The mascot wings were designed from Thunderbird, the legs from a black bear. This is first time for the mascot will be launched in 2010 Winter Paralympics.
