- Being the biggest and richest tennis tournaments, the prize money for US Open Tennis keeps increasing every year to form new records.
- US Open Tennis Tournament officially came into being in 1968.
- The total prize money in the beginning was $17 million.
- In 2007, a bonus amount of $ 1.1 million was added to the base purse of $18.5 million.
