Introduction of Summer Olympics:

The Summer Olympic Games is beginning in 1904. The Summer Olympic Games are conducted the International Olympic Committee for every four years. Medals are prized in every event. Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals are presented for First, Second and Third places respectively. 

Qualifications for Summer Olympics:

The International Federation was set the eligibility rules for every Olympic Games. The participants or teams can make a certain place in the International Federation’s Ranking List in each event. The National Olympic Committees are enlisted the eligible candidates for every event. The hosted country is automatically eligible for the Olympic Games.

History of Summer Olympics:
The modern Olympic Games are beginning in 1894. In 1896, the first edition of de Coubertin's games started in Athens, Greece. There are 245 competitors are participated in this games. More than 200 Greece competitors are participated in de Coubertin’s games. Only 14 nations are contributed in de Coubertin’s Games.

The first Summer Olympics is celebrated in Athens, Greece on April 6, 1986. The Summer Olympic Games are also called the Games of the Olympiad. The Summer Olympics is an International Multi-Sport Event.

Summer Olympics – Before World War II:
  • The 1940 and 1944 Summer Olympic Games are canceled for the cause of World War II.
  • The 1936 Berlin Summer Olympic Games were conducted by the German Government. The Torch Relay is reopened in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games.
  • The 1932 Summer Olympic Games were conducted at Los Angeles and were ostentatious by the Great Depression. A very few competitors are participated in the Olympic Games.
  • The 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympic Games, the Coca-Cola Company patronage the games.
  • The records placed until next Summer Olympic Games in 1924. There are 3,000 competitors are participated in this Olympic Games.

  • The 1956 Summer Olympic Games successfully held in Melbourne, Australia.
  • The 1952 Summer Olympic Games are held in Helsinki.
  • The Summer Olympic Games are reformed by 1948 at London after World War II. Germany and Japan are not participated in the 1948 Olympic Games.
Summer Olympics – 20th Century:
  • The 1996 Summer Olympics are held in Atlanta.
  • The 1992 Summer Olympic Games are held in Barcelona.
  • The 1988 Summer Olympic Games are held in Seoul.
  • The 1984 Summer Olympics are conducted at Los Angeles. The Soviet Union and 13 Soviet affiliated countries avoided the 1984 Summer Olympic Games.
  • The 1980 Summer Olympic Games are conducted at Moscow. Above 66 countries avoided the Summer Olympics.
Summer Olympics – Millennium 2000:
  • The 2008 Summer Olympics are held in Beijing, China.
  • The 2004 Summer Olympics are held in Athens, Greece and spent 7.2 billion dollars.
  • The 2000 Summer Olympics are happened in Sydney, Australia. The Summer Olympic Games are called the "Games of the New Millennium".

The International Olympic Committee announced that the 2012 Summer Olympic Games will be held in London, United Kingdom. There are 43 different sports, across 56 different disciplines will arrange in 2012 Summer Olympic Games. There are 28 new sports will be added in 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Baseball, Softball games will be removed in 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Some of the Summer Olympic Sports or Federations are affiliated in one common tree, known as ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic Federations (ASOIF).
