Singapore Youth Olympics Closing Ceremony 2010

On 26th August, the Float at Marina Bay of Singapore will host the closing ceremony of the World’s first summer youth Olympic Games. The Float at Marina Bay is the largest floating stage in the world. It has the capacity to accommodate around 30,000 viewers. The closing ceremony programs of the summer Youth Olympics will start on 26th evening. And this is going to a memorable evening. It is being said that the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics closing ceremony will remain as “An Unforgettable Party” in the viewer’s mind. Everyone will really enjoy it. There will be melodious and rocking songs sung by talented youth singers from different parts of the world. Apart from these high energy songs, the closing ceremony will also feature stunning dances performed by the young talented dancers. Along with the performance of these young talented singers and dancers, there will also be many spectacular cultural and entertainment programs. The most eye catching event is going to be the marvelous fountains, flames and the fireworks which will be taking place in the late evening. The closing ceremony will also feature a short highlight on the Youth Olympic Games that has taken place on the last 12 days.

The decision about this youth Olympics was first taken by the International Olympics Committee in 2007 during its session in Guatemala City. The main aim of the Youth Olympic Game was to bring the talents out of the young generation and to make them more aware of the sports events. And of course the youth involvement in each and every step of the Olympics from the opening ceremony till the closing ceremony is the main feature of the 2010 Singapore Summer Youth Olympics. As a part of this, many events were conducted in various schools at regular intervals to generate ideas from the younger generation towards the opening as well as closing ceremony functions. And this practice had been started from February 2009 onwards. The closing ceremony along with the opening ceremony also aims at bringing up the global unity. The achievements of all the winners of 2010 Singapore Summer Youth Olympics will also be honored during the closing ceremony. It is estimated that around 3,600 young athletes from 205 different countries of the World will be participating in the first Summer Youth Olympic games. There are about 26 sporting events included in this youth Olympics. These events are archery, athletics, badminton, basket ball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, football, gymnastics, hand ball, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, swimming, shooting, table tennis, tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volley ball, weightlifting and wrestling.
