The entire islands of the Saint Kitts and Nevis are 2 of the most ancient colonized territories of the Caribbean islands. Saint Kitts infact became the first ever British colony in West Indies in the year1624; then in 1625 it had become the 1st French colony of the Caribbean, when both these countries wanted to partition this island. Kaliango came and inhabited here and then on slowly the British and the French had captured the whole land. Saint Kitts was the base of both the French and the British. Until the later half of the 19th century, these 2 islands were governed as 2 different states.
