Etymology & History of Rwanda -
The most ancient inhabitants of this land was the Twa Pygmies and afterwards several other local tribal groups came and mixed with mainstream population of this nation. During the 16th century, the natives of this land had witnessed feudalism and its several impacts. The ‘Mwami-kingdom’ had ruled over this entire region for a considerable amount of time. Then this place became the victim of colonial dominance that is quite similar to all African countries. The greedy German captured and exploited this country from the later part of the 19th century. But Germans besides exploiting, also did some urban development to this place. But after the 2nd World War this place became a possession of Belgium. Belgium government boosted the Tutsi military power over the large and innocent Hutu population that had ultimately caused that mass-murder of Tutsis in 1959. Thus this place has seen numerous historical ups and downs over the years.
