Russia has won 85 Gold, 80 Silver and 82 Bronze medals in the summer Olympics and on the other hand they have won 36 Gold, 26 Silver and 19 Bronze medals in the Winter Olympics.
Etymology & the History of Russia -
The early history of Russia goes way back to the time when the nomadic pastoralists came and inhabited here. Numerous prairie civilizations of this country were discovered during the 20th century Russia in places like; Ipatova, Arkaim, Sintashta, Pazyryk etc. the history of this region is so huge and it has evolved to such an extent over the years that it is hard to cover all of it within some pages. But it is believed that various Slavic tribes are the original ancestors of this land. Mediaeval Russian history was full of happenings with the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Russia became a world-power under the reign of Romanov dynasty. Russia probably had played the most crucial role even in the 2nd World War. But unfortunately during 1989-90’ this mammoth state was divided into 15 Soviet Republics that decreases the worldwide supremacy of power and impact of Russia.
Government and politics at Russia -
According to the new constitution of Russia that was adopted in the year 1993, Russia is actually a federation where the president is considered as the head of the entire state. The Federation of Russia is primarily structured as a typical representative democracy. Here the Executive power is exercised only by the government of the state. The government is basically synchronized by the checks & balances system. The federal government of Russia is made of three main branches: Legislative, Executive and the Judiciary system. Judiciary system in this country is strict and it is well looked after by the government whether the laws of the constitutions are maintained strictly by the responsible persons or not. The national legislator of this country is made of two chambers; State Duma & the Federation Council. Leading political parties of this country are; United Russia, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the Communist Party and the Fair Russia. Today Russia has been laid by Vladimir Putin.
Russia Economy-
After this huge country was divided into several parts the economy of this country has undergone lots of ups and downs. The economy here has suffered due to various reasons like; oil-price hike, higher rate of domestic consumption, increased foreign investments etc. in 1998, Russia witnessed a big financial lose. In the financial year of 2007, country’s GDP was about $2.077 trillion which is the 7th largest in whole world. Oil and mineral extractions hold a big ration of the overall economic growth of Russia. In 2007 the reports have shown that only 13.5% live under the poverty line which is good compare to the 1998 situation. Unemployment has become a major problem of this country. Russia is world’s leading natural gas exporter.

Russia, having a long history, has a varied demographics and the Russian Federation is basically a very diverse and multi-ethnic society that is made of almost 165 different ethnicity along with the native people. Density of populatio0n is more near the Ural Mountain region. There is also of about 10 million illegal immigrant people from the various ex-Soviet states of Russia. But for the past few years the higher death rate has caused low population in Russia.
Russia Education-
The citizens of this state enjoy a free education system that is quite good. Here it’s really tough to get entry to the higher level of education but many other students from different parts of the globe also try to take admission in Russian colleges. Russia’s educational system is really strong in fields like; science and technological research, medical science, space and aviation research etc. But poor people are not getting to enter the main stream of the educational system here and this must be looked after by the government.

Russian folk music is not only famous but the mixed blend of culture that is found in it is really unique. Russian Musical Society consists of some of the famous music composers of this world. Apart from that Russia has given birth to some of the best writers, artists and musicians of this planet.
