The 2012 Summer Paralympic Games is going to take place between 29 August and 9 September 2012. It is the fourteenth Paralympics and London has been selected as the venue of the grand event after the city was successful with its bid for the Paralympics and Summer Olympic Games. About 1.6 million tickets will be available for the various events. The predicted sell-out rate is estimated to be 63%. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) reported, "With its rich history, the capacities of UK Paralympic Sport are among the best in the world."
Though London is staging its third Olympic Games, this is the first Paralympic Games to be held here.

London Paralympics 2012 Mascots
The official mascots for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, Wenlock and Mandeville, were revealed on the 19th of May, 2010, both at the same time. Both the animations depicted two drops of steel from a steelworks in Bolton.
Wenlock is named after the Shropshire town of Much Wenlock while Mandeville after Stoke Mandeville, a town in Buckinghamshire where the Paralympic Games were first held. The story concepts for the mascots were written by the writer Michael Morpurgo; even an animation has been produced. In the run-up to the Games in 2012, it is going to be a part of an ongoing series concerning the mascots.
London Paralympics 2012 Partners
The London 2012 Organizing Committee has partnered with major companies to fund the gala event. The first partner to team up with the Organizing Committee as a Paralympics-only sponsor is the Sainsbury's, the second largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom. It has also been the largest sponsor of the Paralympics in the history of the Games. Other "Tier One" partners for the Paralympics and the Olympics are Adidas, BMW, BP, British Airways, BT, EDF Energy and Lloyds TSB. The "Tier Two" sponsors include Adecco, Cadbury, Cisco, Deloitte, Thomas Cook and UPS while the"Tier Three" partners include Germanprosthetics Company Otto Bock which is also a Paralympics-only sponsor.
London Paralympics 2012 Ticketing
It is estimated by the organizers that almost 1.5 million tickets would be available for the Paralympic Games. The sign-up for the tickets was launched on 22 March 2010. The tickets will be going on sale from September 9, 2011. However, the prices of the tickets are going to be announced few months in advance, in May, 2011. The organizers are hopeful that 63% of Paralympic tickets will be sold. There will also be free events, like, the marathon, and road cycling.
London Paralympics 2012 Broadcasting
The Games will be broadcast by United Kingdom: Channel 4. It is going to have 150 hours of television coverage for the viewers.
London Paralympics 2012 Flag
The Olympic and Paralympic Flag were raised outside City Hall on Friday, 26 September, 2008. This marked the beginning of the Paralympiad. Until 2012, the flag will proudly sway outside the City Hall.
