On 24th of August 2008, it was schweduled that the ICC Champions Trophy has been postponed to October 2009 due to some security reasons. Later, on the 16 of March 2009, ICC has announced that ICC Champions Trophy will be moved from Pakistan to Republic of South Africa.
On April 2, 2009, South Africa Cricket Board has announced that it will host the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy from September 24th to October 5th.
