This is the country which is situated in the Central Africa. The country is also known as the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. This is the smallest country in continent of Africa. The country comprises of the two regions that are Muni and Rio.

History:
The first population was of the region of the continental which is now the Equatorial Guinea and is supposed to have the labelabes, with whom the isolated pockets remains in the Rio Muni. Between the 17th to the 19th centuries the migrations of the Bantu brought the tribes of the coastal and later brought the Fang. The first inhabitants of the Bioko Island were the Bubi.
Etymology:
The Guinea is the name of the portion in west coast of the Africa. It is derived with the reference of Vague from some of the other different countries such as the guinea hen, Guinea fowl, Guinea pig and Guinea worm. In the year 1663 the gold coin which was named as the guinea was firstly struck.
Demographics:
The majority of the people in the country are of the Bantu origin. The Fang is the largest tribe which is indigenous to mainland, but the extensive migration of the island of Bioko has resulted in the dominance of the Fang over the inhabitants of the Bantu. The Fang comprises of the 67 clans and the 80% of population.
Government and Policies:
The president of the country is Retired Brig. The constitution of the country gives the extensive power which also includes the dismissing and the naming members of cabinet, Ratifying and negotiating treaties, calling legislative elections, making laws by the decree and the dissolving chamber of Representatives. The prime minister of the country coordinates the activities of the government in the areas except the security, foreign affairs and the national defense.
Education and Culture:
Many literacy organizations and the cultural dispersions are situated in country that is founded significantly with financial support of government of Spanish. The Equatorial Guinea has one university known as the Universidad Nacional de Guinea Scuatorial with the faculty of the medicine situated on mainland in Bata and the campus in the Malabo. The Bata Medical School is principally supported by the Cuba government and is staffed by the Cuban medical physicians and educators.
Economy:
In the year 1996 the discovery of the big oil reserves and its following exploitation contributed in the dramatic increase in the revenue of government. The country is the 3rd biggest oil producer in the Sub- Saharan Africa. The oil production of the country has increased to the 360,000 barrels. The main components of the GDP are the farming, fishing and forestry.
Infrastructure:
The expansion of the economy brought the business of the petroleum production which has allowed the acceleration of the improvement of the infrastructure program and the investment initiates for diversifying economy. The country has the 3 local airports and 2 international airports. The main sea ports are the Bata and Malabo and the other 2 ports are used for the fishing and timber exports.
