Canada Games is a National Artist program held for two years and a high level multi-sport event, which was first held in the year 1967 in Quebec City. The games were altered between Summer games and winter games and athletes should represent their province of territory. The athletes who took part in first Canada Games were 1800 to compete in 15 sport events from 10 provinces and 2 territories.
The Canada Games were held every two years in successive intervals of summer and winter games in Canada. The Canada Games are the key events to encourage the young athletes who have undergone training for years to take part in the Canada Games and make their province of territory proud. The young athletes are encouraged in the games and are considered as the future of athletes for the national competitions, international and Olympic champions. The Canada Games Council is the governing body of Canada Games and as the game moves from one province, territory to another, the council is ready to help the host society (state were the Canada Games take place) with support and leadership in key areas such as marketing, ceremonies, protocol, technical issues sponsorship and organizational planning.
