Design of the Torch

The torch relay ceremony is to carry a torch across the country which is hosting the event so as to spread awareness that the games are going to begin. The design of the torch has become very essential in the contemporary games as there are lots of commercial elements which are involved in the present day’s game. Initially many designs were proposed but only two torch designs were shortlisted. The Exploit and The Tide were the two designs which were tied up for the final spot. Later the Tide was chosen out of the two designs by the organizers of the Games.

The specification of the Tide is very unique and is promised to be one of its kinds. It weighs around 98gms and is 70cms long. The light weight and the elegant look of the torch has compelled the organizers to choose it over the Exploit design.
