World Orphan Week 2016

World orphan week is observed on 4th to 11th of March every year. It started in the United Kingdom in 2005. The purpose of this week is to create awareness among the masses about the needs and requirements of abandoned and orphaned children around the world. Children are called orphans when they lost their parents or their parents are not able to take care of them.

The aim of world orphan week 2016 is to highlight the condition of children across the world who have been abandoned by their parents by accident, disease, poverty or disaster and encourage people and families to give their support in improving the plight of orphans. We can help them by donating money, can hold fund raising events or sponsor a child.

World orphan week is a time to remember the orphans of the world. As every child is different from the other so are their needs. That’s why we should try to help orphans individually, regardless of nation, culture or race. We should encourage people to sponsor or adopt a child so that they can nurture as a part of a healthy family. They receive love from their parent, can go to school and learn how to read & write etc. they get a better environment for growth. They have been ensured with the love, care and security of a family thus able to lead a life of a normal child. It's a great feeling to know that we can change someone's life for ever.
