World Gratitude Day 2014
World Gratitude Day was instituted with the idea of offering people an opportunity to show their appreciation and gratitude for everything in their lives.
When: September 21st
Why and How to Do This World Gratitude Day Celebrates?
This day was created by a Group within the United Nations so that people could find various ways to express their appreciation for all the good things that groups and also individuals do to make life better for others. The idea was to do this at a global level and recognize the contributions. Awards are also handed out to acknowledge the spirit and good work.
The idea is also foster “an attitude of gratitude” in people so that they appreciate and return all the favors and good deeds that people have done for them. It could be something as simple as a thank you note or a certificate for people’s contributions.
Of course, there are several creative ways to go about expressing your thanks to people – make a card, cook something special, holding the door open for someone, etc. There are many ways to express your gratitude and appreciation for other – find that unique and individual way to say so, to the people who matter to you.
It would be nice if people could do it all the time but doing it even on one day is a good way to start and keep the tradition going.
