When Is Shmini Atzeret

Shemini Atzeret is a Biblical festival which means “the eighth day of assembly”. According to the Hebrew calendar it falls on the 22-23rd of Tishrei. Seven days of Sukkot come to an end with Hoshana Rabba which is followed by the Biblical festival known as Shemini Atzeret.

Importance of this Shemini Atzeret

According to diaspora, Shemini Atzeret is a holiday for everyone. The common ritual is to light candles and say the Kiddush, attending special services like synagogue and refraining from work are some of the activities. This day is very special for all Jewish people.
