When Is Palm Sunday

When is Palm Sunday celebrated?

Palm Sunday is a very special day for Christians and is celebrated on the sixth Sunday of Lent. It is on this day that Jesus entered Jerusalem a week before he resurrected. Therefore, Palm Sunday is known as the “triumphal entry”.

Importance of Palm Sunday

On this day as Jesus entered Jerusalem, people set him on the donkey, laid their clothes and broke palm leaves and spread them on the road. People flocked around him and cried out loud saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!” This happened on a Sunday before Jesus was crucified. Hence, Palm Sunday symbolizes the palm leaves that were laid for Jesus.
