The festival of Sukkot is celebrated the week starting on 15th day of Tishri (or Tishrei); this is the first month of the year in the Jewish calendar. Hoshana Rabbah (or Hoshana Raba) is regarded by most Jewish people as the last day of Sukkot. It marks the end of the period of Sukkot, and is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.
Sukkot is the time to remember the Jewish people’s wandering in the desert for 40 years after the exodus from Egypt. It is also said that this is the time for rejoicing the grape harvest.
