In United States of America Juneteenth is a holiday honoring African American heritage by celebrating the proclamation of the abolishment of Slavery in United States. Juneteenth is also recognized as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day.

When does Juneteenth Began?

In 1865, Texas State widely conceived to begin Juneteenth celebrations with intimate ceremonies taking place for over a century. Since 1980 it has been formally State holiday. It is onset a "partial staffing holiday", entailing that State offices will not close but the employees will use their floating holiday to take off on that day.
