Hanukkah is also known as Festival of Lights. Hanukkah is the celebration of eight day of Jewish holiday memorializing the dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem in 2nd century BCE at the time of the Maccabean Revolt. The Name Hanukkah comes from the Hebrew verb "חנך", entailing "to dedicate". 

How is Hanukkah Celebrated?

Hanukkah is celebrated by evoking of lights of unique candelabrum, Menorah or Hanukiah, the nine-branched. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight day and nights, which starts on 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may take place at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.
