When Is First Day of Lent

When is First Day of Lent Celebrated?

In the Western Christian tradition Lent is the time period of liturgical year ahead up to Easter. The traditional intention of the Lent is the formulation of the worshiper by prayer, penitence, alms giving and abnegation- for the annual ceremony during Holy-Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which remembers the consequences linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the ceremony of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

According to the Bible the 40 days represent the time that Jesus spent in the desert ahead the commencing of his public ministry, where he endured temptation by Satan.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent in Western Christianity.
