Boxing Day is celebrated on 26th December every year. It is considered to be bank or public holiday. This holiday is very popular in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and United Kingdom. There are other names of Boxing Day in different countries. In Ireland it is known as St. Stephens Day and in South Africa it is called Day of Goodwill.

Significance of Boxing Day

In countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and United Kingdom, Boxing Day is often known as the shopping day. Similar to the Black Friday in United States of America, Boxing Day is also the very next day of Thanks Giving. If the Boxing Day falls on a Sunday then it is often shifted to 27th December and also it is declared as a holiday.
