What is Black History Month

This is celebrated in United States and Canada in the month of February. The origination of Black History Month goes way back in 1976. This is also known as American- African History month. In 1926, Carter G. Woodson started the Negro History Week. This was in an effort to educate the Americans about the Negros and Africans.

Significance of Black History Month

This month is celebrated in the remembrance of the African Diaspora. It is officially celebrated since 1976. People are educated about the African- American relations and the difference in their cultures etc. It has always been controversial since the starting. Many debate about the usefulness of the month which is dedicated to the African race.
