Victor Marie Hugo was born on 26 February 1802, in Besancon. Victor Hugo’s father, Joseph Leopold Sigisbert Hugo, was a great Napoleon army solider and his mother was Sophie Trebuchet. Victor Hugo died in Paris in 1828.

There were many events in Victor Hugo life. Napoleon was the Emperor at the time of Hugo’s birth. He learnt a lot from his father, who was an officer in the Napoleon army. His mother was a Catholic, her ideas didn’t match with her husband and they separated. Most of Hugo’s upbringing was done by her mother. His thinking was influenced by his mother.He opposed Napoleon as an Emperor. In 1822, Victor Hugo married Adele Foucher.
Victor Hugo began as a Novelist, poet, dramatist and writer. He wrote many poems, novels based on real life, dramas, touching the feelings of a person. The great works of Victor Hugo had made him popular among people. Victor Hugo had a strong voice, rich and intense in style which adds life to his plays and dramas.
But in his later life he diverted himself towards politics and was elected in 1841.In 1848, Victor Hugo was elected to the Constitutional Assembly and to the Legislative Assembly. Through the sword of poems he brought down Napoleon III from the throne. He lived in Brussels and for the short time in Luxemburg and after that victor Hugo returned back in Paris, where he was elected as a senator of Paris in 1876.
