The United States Senate election in Kentucky for 2010 is scheduled to take place on November 2, concurrent to other elections to the United States Senate in other states
In the July of 2009, Jim Bunning, who is the incumbent Senator of Kentucky announced that he is not going to run for re-election. 

Likewise, primaries for each respective party were conducted on 18th May, for the Republican and the Democratic Parties.

The candidates from the Republican and the Democratic Party

The Tea Party activist Rand Paul, who is an ophthalmologist by profession, won the Republican nomination; the Attorney General of Kentucky, Jack Conway was chosen as the Democratic nominee.

In the race for U.S. Senate, however, the Republican Rand Paul is having the lead over Democrat Jack Conway. According to a popular telephonic survey, Paul was found the favorite among the voters with 49% of the vote, while Conway had 41%. 4% was keen for some other candidate and the rest 6% still remained unsure.
