This summer music festival takes place in the city of Burgas on Black Sea, the coastal area of Bulgaria. The commencement of this feast took place in the year 2008 on 15th August to 17th August. Since then, it has grown manyfolds both in popularity and size and is tagged as one of the prominent music festivals of Europe.

The first event had on main stage artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Hot Club de Paris, Asian Dub Foundation, Pharoahe Monch and Upsurt, Cradle of Filth, Kosheen and Bonobo. Apart from the main stage, there are separate stages allotted for music space, dance, rock, DJ and Latino welcoming prominent and aspiring artists.
14th to 16th August 2009 witnessed and welcomed the second edition of Spirit of Burgas featuring Faith No More, Fun Lovin' Criminals, The Crystal Method, Clawfinger, Dreadzone, LTJ Bukem, De Phazz, Sub Focus, Alexander Kowalski, Speedy J, Mario Ranieri and aspiring Australian alternative rock bands.
The next session took place on August 13, 14, and 15 by many renowned music bands and musicians among which The Prodigy and Serj Tankian swayed away the audiences. This edition of the festival was also conducted on Bulgarian Black Sea sponsored by MTV Europe.
