Rosh Hashanah Food & Recipes

Just like with any other Jewish festivels, Rosh Hashanah has definite meals that people have. Three of these meals are apples, honey and carrots.

They usually start the feast by plunging the apple in the honey and pleading to the God to sanctify them with harmonious and a happy year. They also prepare a lot of preparations with honey and customarily have honey cake. Also, carrots are eaten for their sugariness and since the Yiddish phrase for "carrot," meren refers to "to augment" and people wish for all favourable things to augment all through the year. In addition, the Hebrew word gezer is from the alike phrase as " udgements," gezeirot, and people would like all their judgements to be affirmative, superior and sweet.
