An Award is something given to a person or persons to show appreciation of one’s achievements in a certain field marking a sign of excellence. Though awards are usually signified by trophies, titles, certificates, commemorative plaques, pins, ribbons, medals or badges, an award can also be a monetary prize given to the recipient, like, the Nobel Prize in wake of contributions to the society or the Pulitzer Prize for literary achievements.
